The Final Race Plan for the Veteran Championships can be found here. There are a few minor changes which include crews dropping out and status changes. The races affected are:

Record Entry 08/06/2008

Many thanks to all those who have entered this year’s National Veteran Championships. There are over 350 crews in the draw – a record entry!

Some crews have been moved from their original entry in accordance with preferences they expressed with their entry or via e-mail etc.

A small number of Veteran Novice and Veteran Senior 3 events attracted only one or two entries. Where possible these have been merged with entries from adjacent age categories to make up races as outlined in the Veteran Championships Rules. For example if we got one entry in Novice F1x and one entry in Novice G1x the two would be combined to make up a race.

Please take time to read the Safety Instructions thoroughly and we look forward to seeing you on 15th June for what promises to be an excellent day’s racing!

Unfortunately we were unable to arrange suitable races for the some crews. They are listed here and will get a refund in due course.

Entries Closed 04/06/2008

OARA is now closed and we are no longer accepting entries for this year's event.

Many thanks to all the competitors who have entered the regatta. We have received a healthy entry and the draw will be published on this site on the evening of Sunday 8th June 2008.

Please note that any crew now withdrawing from the event will remain liable for their entry fee.

Entries are now open via OARA and will close at 18:00 on Wednesday 4th June 2008.

Changes for 2008 25/03/2008

The 2008 National Veteran Championships will be held on Sunday 15th June 2008 at the National Watersports Centre, Nottingham. The event will be held in conjunction with Loughborough Regatta which will take place on Saturday 14th June 2008.

The Organising Committee of the Veteran Championships have made this change to the arrangements following the unprecedented level of entries in 2007. Despite running the tightest possible racing schedule for the longest day that the venue could manage, returning a few of the last veteran entries received was regrettably unavoidable.Having the Sunday exclusively for the Veteran Championships will ensure that such a situation does not arise again.

Once again the Championships will be offering Novice events for 1X, 2X and 4+ boat categories across the full range of veteran age divisions for those who may have taken up the sport recently. Additionally Senior 3 events in 1X, 2X and 4+ boats will be available in specific divisions.

We are sure that this is the next logical step in the continuing success and progress of the National Veteran Championships and look forward to seeing you on Sunday 15th June.

The draw for the 2007 Veteran Championships and Loughborough Regatta is currently being finalized and will be available on this website either later tonight, Sunday 10th June, or on Monday 11th June.

The 2007 Veteran Championships received a record entry which was well in excess of anything received previously. Unfortunately, this means the event is over-subscribed and a very small number of entries have had to be turned down to reduce the number of races so everything could be fitted in. The clubs/crews concerned have been informed.
